Melbourne's central business district is a cultural and business centre bisected by the Yarra River with the adjoining Botanic gardens. Students can settle in to Melbourne with a tour of this area to acquaint themselves with the city and its people, and to orient themselves into Melbourne's time zone.

One of the highlights of the CBD is Federation Square, a contemporary public space that hosts a variety of events and exhibitions. Just a short walk away, you'll find the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), a sporting landmark that has witnessed countless historic matches and concerts. At the other end of the city is the Queen Victoria Market.

MELBOURNE CITY CENTRE DAY ITINERARY
BREAKFAST
9am departure from hotel after breakfast at hotel.
Walk through the arcades of Melbourne to Flinders St Station.
MORNING
Walk through the Botanic Gardens, and river walk back to the National Gallery of Victoria and Ian Potter Centre.
LUNCH
1pm Lunch provided in at Pelligrini's restaurant in Bourke St after walk down historic Collins St and State Library.
AFTERNOON
3pm take tram to Queen Victoria Market in the city's north to discover foods and tourist items signifying Melbourne.
EVENING
6pm Return to hotel around 6pm for rest and relaxation and a dinner at the hotel and English language immersion games.
