Students Going Upstairs

THE EDUCATION ADVANTAGE

Students who have experience internationally outperform those who remain in local settings. Practical application of their English helps them perform better in English language when they return home, and with a broader outlook students are more engaged with study and how it applies in the world beyond school or university. Widener seeks to expand students both educationally and philosophically.

ABOUT WIDENER

Widener was established in 2022 by Charlie Jamieson, Sarah Zhi and Tom Jamieson. As graduates or students of Melbourne University, and having completed degrees at Harvard University, Charlie and Sarah recognised that Melbourne's elite learning institutions ranked among the best in the world, and that overseas students gained enormously from study in Australia.

Widener's tours are designed to prepare Chinese students for international and English language experiences. As the world globalises, people with English language skills and experiences outside their home countries gain a distinct advantage.

As an international student at Melbourne University, Sarah realised the advantage of preparatory immersion in Australia. Charlie, currently completing a Bachelor of Commerce at Melbourne University, interacts with Melbourne's extensive overseas student population, and also recognised the benefit of introductory tours of Australian campuses and culture prior to commencing university in Australia.
